Questions from those who live far away
What's in the hamper?
Produce from the estate and the region, such as olive oil, wine, fruit or honey. The contents vary with the season and may include produce from other Jog Club estates.
I don't live in Portugal. Who looks after the house?
Jog Properties looks after your country home and the shared areas all year round, with reports and photos. When you arrive, your home is ready to use.
Are there annual costs?
Yes. Management, monitoring and maintenance are covered by an annual fee, stated for each estate before reservation. As with any property, there is also the municipal property tax (IMI).
Can I rent the house out as a holiday let when I'm not there?
It depends on each estate's licence and the local council's rules. We clarify this case by case, before reservation.
Can I buy without coming to Portugal?
Yes. We provide a presentation and a virtual tour, and the reservation and the deed can be completed by power of attorney, with legal support.
Can I take part in the grape and other harvests?
Yes. The Jog Club organises open days on the estate, with grape harvests, olive picking and food events, for you and your family.
Can I visit the estates?
Yes. We organise open days in August and at Christmas, and guided visits on other dates.
What about taxes for people living abroad?
We provide tax support to residents and non-residents, with a simulation before you decide.
